About This Korean Text Generator

Designers and developers building Korean-language websites, apps and localization projects need realistic text to test layouts before the real copy arrives. Latin Lorem Ipsum doesn't help here: Korean has different character widths, line heights and line-breaking rules. This random Korean text generator produces Hangul (한글, also spelled Hangeul) dummy text that behaves like real Korean on screen, so you can check fonts, spacing and text flow early.

Unlike Chinese and Japanese, Korean puts spaces between words (띄어쓰기). That changes how lines wrap, so a convincing Korean placeholder needs word-sized syllable groups separated by spaces, not one long string of characters. Generate 1 to 10 paragraphs, choose a speech style, and paste the result into Figma, Sketch, your code editor or any CMS — no sign-up required.

Localizing the same design for China as well? Our Chinese Lorem Ipsum generator creates matching placeholder text in Simplified Chinese (汉字), so you can test both layouts side by side. For a Japanese version, use our Japanese Lorem Ipsum generator.

What Makes This Korean Dummy Text Look Real

  • Frequent syllables only. Modern Hangul has 11,172 possible syllable blocks, but everyday text uses a small share of them. Words are built from about 290 of the most common syllables, so the text renders in every Korean font, including subsetted web fonts.
  • Word spacing like real Korean. Words are one to four syllables long and separated by spaces, which gives you realistic line breaks.
  • Correct particles. Particles such as 은/는, 이/가, 을/를 and 과/와 are chosen by whether the previous syllable ends in a consonant (받침), as in real Korean grammar.
  • Your choice of speech style. Formal (-습니다) suits corporate sites and apps, polite (-요) suits consumer brands and social media, and plain (-다) suits articles and news.

The result looks right to a designer and is obviously meaningless to a Korean reader, so nobody mistakes it for final copy in a design review.

Korean Font Test Sentences

Need a short line rather than paragraphs? These are the classic Korean sentences used to preview fonts — the Korean counterparts of "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog".

다람쥐 헌 쳇바퀴에 타고파 Pangram using every basic Hangul consonant — "The squirrel wants to ride the old wheel."
키스의 고유조건은 입술끼리 만나야 하고 특별한 기술은 필요치 않다. A common sample sentence in Korean font specimens.

How to Use This Random Korean Text Generator

  1. Choose the number of paragraphs — 1, 3, 5 or 10.
  2. Choose sentences per paragraph — 5, 10, 20 or 30, depending on how much text you need.
  3. Pick a speech style — formal, polite, plain, or a mix across paragraphs.
  4. Click "Generate text" and copy — use the Copy text button or select the text manually, then paste it wherever you need it.

The first paragraph starts with 아래 내용은 의미 없는 예시 글입니다 ("The following is meaningless sample text"), so a Korean speaker reviewing your mockup knows right away that the copy is not final.

Build-Stage Decisions for a Korean Website

Korean search and sharing work differently from what most Western teams are used to. These decisions are cheap to get right during the build and expensive to fix after launch.

  1. Stop Korean words from breaking mid-word

Set word-break: keep-all on Korean text so lines break at spaces, not between any two syllables. Keep overflow-wrap: break-word for long URLs. Test with the generated text above at mobile widths.

  2. Don't ship a full Korean web font

A Korean font covering all 11,172 syllables can weigh several megabytes. Use a system font stack (Apple SD Gothic Neo, Malgun Gothic), or subset the web font to the 2,350 syllables of the KS X 1001 standard. Building a Chinese version too? Generate a Chinese font stack →

  3. Register the site with Naver Search Advisor

Naver has its own webmaster platform (네이버 서치어드바이저) for site verification, sitemaps, RSS and crawl reports. Make sure robots.txt doesn't block Naver's crawler, Yeti. Daum has a separate webmaster tool as well. Want to see what currently ranks? Compare Naver and Daum results →

  4. Prepare Open Graph tags for KakaoTalk

Links in Korea are shared through KakaoTalk, which builds its previews from Open Graph tags (og:title, og:description, og:image) and caches them. Set them before the first share — an outdated preview has to be refreshed through Kakao's developer tools.

  5. Design mobile-first

Korean users search and shop overwhelmingly on smartphones. Check Korean text sizes, line height and tap targets on mobile before desktop.

  6. Keep staging and placeholder text out of the index

Password-protect or noindex the staging site, and remove every line of dummy text before launch. Indexed placeholder text is meaningless content, and an indexed staging copy competes with the live site.

We specialise in China. For Korea, we introduce clients to partner agencies we trust for Naver Ads, Kakao advertising, Naver SEO and Korean website localization — and coordinate with them when a campaign runs in both countries.

Frequently Asked Questions

Korean Lorem Ipsum is random Korean placeholder text used in design and development to fill space before real content is ready. Like the Latin Lorem Ipsum, it gives Korean-language layouts a realistic look without carrying any meaning. The text uses real Hangul (한글) syllables, spaces between words and Korean sentence endings, but the words themselves are random.
Use the generator at the top of this page: choose the number of paragraphs (1, 3, 5 or 10), the sentences per paragraph (5, 10, 20 or 30) and a speech style, then click Generate. The random Korean text appears below the form, ready to copy and paste.
Yes. Click Copy text to copy all paragraphs at once, or select the text manually. Paste it into Figma, your code editor, a CMS, an email template or any document. The output uses standard Korean spacing and punctuation, so it works as-is.
It looks like Korean but means nothing. Words are built from about 290 frequent Hangul syllables, particles such as 은/는 and 을/를 are matched to the preceding syllable as in real Korean, and sentences end in typical verb endings such as -습니다, -다 or -요. A Korean reader immediately sees it is nonsense, which is exactly what placeholder text should be.
By default, browsers may break Korean lines between any two syllables, splitting words across lines. Add word-break: keep-all to your Korean text in CSS so lines break at spaces instead, and keep overflow-wrap: break-word as a fallback for long strings such as URLs. This generator's output is a quick way to test it.
The best-known Korean pangram is 다람쥐 헌 쳇바퀴에 타고파 (roughly: "The squirrel wants to ride the old wheel"), which uses every basic Hangul consonant. Korean font specimens also often use 키스의 고유조건은 입술끼리 만나야 하고 특별한 기술은 필요치 않다. Both are on this page with a copy button.
Only if search engines index it. Remove all placeholder text before launch, and keep staging sites out of Naver's, Daum's and Google's index with password protection or a noindex directive. Indexed dummy text is meaningless content, and an indexed staging copy competes with the live site. The same applies in China — see the build-stage checks for Baidu.
Yes. It is free to use with no sign-up, registration or account required. Generate as much random Korean dummy text as you need.
